Condylox (podofilox topical) is a topical gel which is prescribed to treat both external genital warts (EGW) caused by the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), and actinic keratosis (AK) on the skin.
Usually found in fair-skinned persons who have been over-exposed to the sun, actinic keratosis (AK) can resemble freckles or moles taking on various shapes and sizes, some sensitive and some not, and sometimes scabbing. If left untreated it can potentially turn into a form of skin cancer.
Only take this drug as directed by your doctor. Most often they will prescribe this topical gel to be used for “treatment weeks” involving the twice-daily application to the affected area for three days, followed by a four day lapse. Typically there are three to four treatments weeks involved or until all visible wart tissue has been eliminated. This drug is intended to be used externally only.
While it has been shown to be very effective in treatment and during the clinical trials, it is still unknown exactly how this drug works.
You do not have to let external genital warts (EGW) ruin your life. There is treatment, it is safe and it is very effective, and most importantly it is affordable and painless. If you are suffering from genital warts you owe it to yourself to seek this easy form of treatment.
There are some side effects that can occur when using this topical gel.
Always make sure to tell your doctor about any and ALL of the drugs that you are currently taking to avoid any potential drug interactions when using this topical gel. Your doctor may advise you to discontinue usage of any other lotions, gels, ointments or topical sprays during treatment to avoid interactions.
