Viagra Medication Overview – Treat Erectile Dysfunction
The makers of Viagra, Pfizer, first introduced Viagra to the public in late 1996. Stuffy nose, headache, upset stomach, diarrhea, lightheadedness, dizziness, facial flushing (redness of the face) blurry vision, and in some rare cases a blue-hazy vision, which persisted for several hours. In very rare cases there were reports of sudden and temporary loss of vision and eyesight, which may not have been attributed to Viagra. If you experience any of these rare, yet serious side effects discontinue usage of Viagra and seek medical attention right away.
Who Should Not Take Viagra?
While Viagra is safe for most men of all ages, there are certain conditions that should be discussed with your doctor prior to taking it. Men who suffer from Heart Disease, circulatory issues, low blood pressure, prostate cancer or diabetes, and those who are not deemed healthy enough for sexual activity may not be able to take to Viagra.
What Medications Interact with Viagra?
There are a few medications that can have severe interactions with Viagra. Any medications containing Nitrates cannot be taken in combination with Viagra, as they can lower the blood pressure to unsafe levels. Any medications containing Alpha-blockers also cannot be taken with Viagra, as they are unsafe when combined. Since studies have not yet been concluded on how Viagra may work with other leading ED treatments such as Cialis and Levitra, it is also unsafe to combine any of these drugs for single usage.
